Well, my last homepage on Go.com has been erased, so I needed to find a new home for everyone to find out what's new with me. This is going to take me some time to get it up and running, but it will slowly become a good page. I don't know what I'm going to put on here, but who knows what I'll come up with.
I was born on January 19, 1980 to Imelda and Robert Forrest, in Bossier City, LA. When I was born, the doctors said I wouldn't live a normal life. That I would be mentally retarded, etc. Boy, I would love to go back and show those docs that they were WRONG. I was born with Hydrocephalus. Basically, it's water on the brain that, if not treated quickly, can lead to death. They put a shunt into my head and I had to have seven operations before I was a year old to keep it up and running properly. Since then I haven't had an operation on it and the only problems I really have now are chronic nosebleeds.
I lived in Bossier City until 1988, when my mom and I moved to Longview, TX. My parents divorced when I was five and I have lived with my mom ever since. In Bossier, we lived close to Barksdale Air Force Base, and that fueled my love for aviation. My grandmother used to take me onto the base all the time and I was just awed by the size of the aircraft they had. I have grown to enjoy both civil and military aviation. It just astounds me that something as big as a Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, or a Boeing 747 can get into the air.
Another love for me is computers. I'm going to school for an AAS in Computer Networking, with a Cisco option. I have 2 semesters left, counting the one I'm currently in and, as of January 19, 2002, I am CCNA Certified. I am on ICQ a lot, you can find me at #22937693. I also use AIM and Yahoo Messenger. The names for those are EForrest1980 and emforrestkc respectively.
I am currently working at Target here in town. I've been working there since February of '99. I work on the Flow Team, which unloads the trucks that come in and stock the shelves. We are the first people to touch almost every box that comes into the store. We are also probably the most underappreciated people storewide. We work harder than most of the people there and get the least recoginition. Sometimes it's nice that way, but most of the time we get blamed for anything that goes wrong in the store, as far as things put in the wrong place, etc.
You can ask just about everyone I talk to online or who knows me in person. I'm pretty open-minded and have my opinions about a lot of things. One thing I feel strongly about is the Confederate flag, and what it means to me. I wrote an essay about how I felt in 1997 for my Junior English class. Take a look and let me know what you thought.
